Thank you for your response. You are referring to essential points. So, let me add two thoughts.
1) There is a difference between active and passive understanding. Active understanding is to explain the content in plain words to a person who is not familiar with a topic so that the person understands. That not only needs reading a book but working with the content.
2) Learning is circular. One cannot read once a book or do once an activity, and then you have an active understanding. Sometimes, I understood certain content only years later. Especially, understanding is contextual.
All that is not excluded by the given techniques. It speeds it up and overcomes the first hurdle of overwhelming information and the paralysis to start.
