My experience is to share a goal, a plan, a vision, or an idea carefully AND strategically.

Carefully for getting honest feedback, getting support, and building up some pressure to really start and realize it. Strategically for getting a sponsor that promotes you.

It is always more important to get clarity about “who can support and open doors” than “how should I do it.”
