In martial arts, one learns to relax the body and mind quickly, e.g., after a strike.
You have to breathe quickly but deeply out through the mouth. Focus on your lung, feel and hear like the air is flowing out, feel like the muscles are compressing the lung. Then, breath in through the nose. Repeat it several times.
The effect is the same: it is relaxing the body, and the focus on other senses shifts the attention from stress to relaxation.
That does not only help with several punches to the solar plexus but also in all other stressful situations and can be practiced e.g., in the restroom.
