My best working time is between 5 pm, and 3 am. But getting up early is also not a problem for me. I know, I need my 5 ½ hours of sleep, and after I wake up naturally. And it does not matter if I go to bed at 9 pm, midnight or 3 am. 5 ½ hours, and with this, I can steer any wake-up time, also over a long period. Thus, it is true, that this behavior can be changed.

But: my performance is not the same. In the early morning, I cannot do physical training. Otherwise, my circulation collapses. And my most creative phases are between midnight and 3 am. And there is evidence from long-term studies that night owls forced to the early bird’s life have higher mortality risk, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, respiratory disorders, and so on.

It seems that psychologically, we can adapt to the early bird’s life. However, it appears that our biological processes, also over extended periods, are still not fully changed and result in health challenges.
